Clenching my fists so tight that my knuckles went white, as I let out a deep breath that I didn’t know I was holding. I tried walking straight, with my head held up high but failed to do so as my legs gave in due to the immense amount of shock I just went through. Right there and then I broke down at the small corner of the library as I muffled my tears, whimpering and shaking badly. Even though it is what it is, I tried so hard to believe that it wasn’t true, but when you see it yourself it really is another kind of pain.

Today is my first day of school after the two-week winter break, which I spent travelling to new places with my family. We went to various magnificent places discovering the beauty of the winter season, as they forever remain engraved in my memory. I happily trotted to my class lost in the thoughts of my amazing travel as I bumped into something sturdy.

Thwack! As I rubbed my hands against my forehead trying to soothe my pain, I looked up to see my one and only best friend, Yoojung.

“Minhee! I missed you so much, do you have any idea how boring it was without you? I spent my winter break escaping from my elder sisters, they always dump their chores on me when mom and dad aren’t around…,” he ranted rapidly as I tried to make sense out of his words. A smile crept over my lips as I looked at him realising that I really had missed him these past few days.

“I really missed you too Yoojung, although I got to admit these past few days have been really peaceful without your troublesome demeanour wrecking something every few hours,” I giggled as Yoojung pouted at me giving me his I-do-not look. Yoojung and I are seniors and are graduating in a few months, which is exciting but
nerve wrecking at the same time. We both walked to our first class which was Accounting, how fun experimenting with numbers first thing in the morning.
After school Yoojung and I decided to hang out together for the old times sake before we become too immersed in our final exam preparation. I decided that we should
explore the abandoned caravan as it had been the talk of the school lately and I wanted to see it myself if it really was worth the hype. It was located deep inside the forest, which gave it an eerie vibe and kept the cowardly students from checking it out. If there’s one thing Yoojung and me don’t get along well in, is that I’m interested in history, adventure, twists, bloodshed and mysteries whereas Yoojung, is more of a reserved guy, who although is a pretty fun guy to hang out with, he’s pretty much scared of everything and prefers fun in broad daylight surrounded with crowds of people.

It was after school, so it was a dull afternoon with the road filled with an inch thick layer of snow. As our feet made a satisfying sound under the fresh snow, we headed towards the dark looking forest. I was eager to find out what was so special about the caravan and even more, to see what was inside it and whom it belonged to.
Yoojung was already scared and it looked like he would wet himself any minute as I held the urge to burst out laughing. When we reached the caravan, I had to admit it
looked maintained, almost as if someone was living inside. My brain told me to hold Yoojung’s hand and run but my heart told me it was a once in a
lifetime opportunity to explore something mysterious. Just as we were getting closer to the oddly kept up looking caravan, I heard some footsteps approaching, as the dried leaves crushed under the heavy weight. At first I thought it was Yoojung, but then I realised Yoojung was right beside me and the noise was coming from in front of us. Although they weren’t fast paced they were definitely not slow paced either. As I backed up I felt something under my feet, I looked down only to discover a rusted rifle. I picked it up and showed my discovery to Yoojung. I told him about the noise I had heard a couple seconds ago and told him to stay on the lookout. I gripped on the rifle tighter, scared that something might jump out before I had the time to react. While I was deep into my thoughts, trying to figure out how a rifle works, I was brought to reality with a blood curdling scream. I looked to my left and saw a tall person dressed in black from head to toe, not a single skin was shown that even his face was covered with a face mask. I almost would have mistaken him as a tree branch or something, because of the oddly camouflaging get up if only he wasn’t holding Yoojung as a hostage with a gun pointed to his head. Yoojung struggled to get out of his grip as I was stuck in the same position holding the rifle not knowing what to do. “Its all your fault, Minhee,” This single statement kept on repeating in my mind as I tried to calm myself in a life threatening situation. “Help me Minhee! I still want to graduate and get a new PS5!” Yoojung shouted as it brought me back to reality with his nonsense shouts even while he was at death's door.
I gripped on to the rifle tightly as I found where the trigger was. At this moment I had never been so glad about my weird knowledge on guns. Just as I was trying to aim the rifle with shaky and trembling hands, an unfamiliar voice spoke up. “If you want to save your dear friend over here, then do as I say,” the strange man
spoke in a deep husky voice. Already terrified, that deep voice did not help and almost gave me a mini heart attack. Just as I was about to respond Yoojung shouted.

“JUST PULL THE FREAKING TRIGGER ALREADY DAMMIT!!”
The yelling did not help me at all as I accidentally pulled the trigger, as I heard loud bangs at the same time. Scared I was too late I didn't dare open my eyes instead pray to lord that this was all just a bad dream. Suddenly I felt my trembling body being cradled into a very familiar embrace, as he whispered calming words into my ears. As I finally looked up from my teary mess, I saw the person I had been hoping for to be ok. I looked in front of me and couldn't believe the horrible sight I saw, as I teared up all over again…
