Once they lived a rich miser name Taklu Ram. He lived with his wife and his daughter. He didn't give his family proper food to eat or proper education. His family got tired of his ways and decided to write to the king about it. Time passed. It had been almost five months since Taklu Ram's family had written to the king. They slowly began to lose hope. One day, a traveler came to Taklu Ram's hut and asked for food and shelter. His wife, whose name was Bindiya, and her daughter, Champa, were kind hearted so they kindly welcomed the traveler in. As Taklu Ram had gone to work, he did not know about this. Bindiya and Champa had two bananas. They happily gave them both to the hungry traveler. The traveler, Bindiya and Champa became good friends. They talked and the girls shared their problems with him. The traveler suggested that they run away but Bindiya and Champa said that they did not have any money to do so. The traveler was actually a rich man so he gave them some money to start a new life. But what they didn't know was that Taklu Ram had come home early today because he had forgotten his phone at home. He had heard everything. He decided not to mention anything he had heard to his family. He went back to work without his phone. When he came back home in the evening, he asked his family what they had done today. They said they just relaxed at home. Bindiya and Champa had actually decided to run away the next morning, but of course, Taklu Ram had heard this. So he quickly finished his supper and went to his wife and daughter's room. He searched for some time till he found their small bag of clothes, snacks and money. He had a cunning plan in mind.
He told his family he had forgotten his wallet and went outside the hut. He had went out to get a real snake! When he came home, he hid the snake from his family in a cloth he had gotten and went to his daughter and wife's room. He decided to sneak the snake inside their bag. The next morning the two girls set off to start their new life. It was very hot in the afternoon. They decided to open up their box of snacks. But when they opened their small bag, they got a real shock. The snake jumped out of their bag and in front of their very eyes transformed into a young man. The two girls were very confused. The young man told them not to worry. He said that he was the King of Snakes and that he knew all about their problems. He told them that he was the traveler who had given them money to start their new life. He also told them that a few kilometers from there, there was a orchard of apples. They would find a knife in the middle of the orchard. When they cut open any of the thousands of apples, they would find a diamond in it! But he told them that if they got greedy, he would send one of his subjects to kill the person right on the spot. They were allowed to cut only one apple in a day.

So, the two girls started their journey. When they finally reached the middle of the orchard of apples, they were very tired. They quickly took the knife and cut open an apple from one of the trees in the orchard. As the King of Snakes had said they found a diamond inside it. Soon they opened a jewelry shop from the money the traveler had given them. They began making rings, necklaces, bracelets and other items out of the diamonds. They soon started buying other material like gold and silver from the money they got after selling the diamond jewelry. They were not at all greedy. They cut open only one apple in a day, which was more than enough for their
needs. Their shop got very famous.
Soon Taklu Ram heard about their shop and was so surprised on how they survived the snake, let alone become so successful. He decided to visit them and ask them the secret to their success. When he reached Bindiya and Champa's shop, he asked them how they became so successful. He was not sure they would tell their secret to him because of the snake he had sneaked into their bag. But Bindiya and Champa were very helpful and kind, so they told Taklu Ram all about the apple orchard. They also told Taklu Ram about the warning the King of Snakes had given them,
but Taklu Ram ignored that. All he wanted to know was how to get the diamonds. So he set off to find the orchard of apples. When he reached the middle of the orchard, he found the knife and plucked an apple. He cut it open, and sure enough, he found a diamond. But as Taklu Ram was very greedy, plucked out five hundred apples from the trees. Because he had not heard the warning, he was very surprised when a snake appeared in front of him and transformed into a man. The man told Taklu Ram that the King of Snakes had sent him to kill Taklu Ram because he had gotten too greedy. Saying so, he killed Taklu Ram with a wave of his hand.
