Cold and wet, tired and exhausted, she made her way along the path through the forest, she was on cloud nine when she saw the road. Only if Mary knew that her journey was about to turn into something that she could have ever imagined. On her way, she saw a boy on the footpath. He looked like he had gotten separated from his parents. Mary went closer and asked his name and age but, the boy looked scared and did not say a word. Mary quickly took out her phone to call the cops, but the boy shouted at her. Mary got terrified and thought there was something fishy about the boy. She quickly dialled 100, but her phone conked off. She was now frightened. The boy suddenly spoke in a muffled voice and murmured, "My name is Johnathon". The deep voice sent shivers down Mary’s spine. Mary did not think of anything and turned her back towards Jonathon and started walking fast. The boy shouted to her, "Help me find my parents! Please help me. If you don't help me, I am going to die". Mary replied, " I am sorry, my phone is dead; otherwise, I would have helped you find your parents. I will have to go back to my home and charge it while you stay here. I will call the cops, and they will come and help you". The boy was annoyed and whispered, "No cops!!!" She said, "Believe me, the cops will help you". The boy repeated, "No Cops," but now with very angrily and with a heavy voice. Mary was now on the verge of crying but somehow agreed to help the boy find his parents. The boy now had a wicked smile on his face. Mary and Jonathon started looking for his parents. Suddenly Jonathon began to sing a song, "Little Jonathon is happy happy happy because Mary is helping Jonathon find his parents. Mary was frightened to death because Mary had not told the boy her name. How did he know it? He had misled her. Mary knew that she had to be alert. Mary had reached her home. When Mary and Jonathon were right in front of her house, Jonathon said, "what a beautiful house, Mary! Mary wanted to cry out loudly and shout for help. Jonathon suddenly yelled, "Dont shout, Mary. Then he started to giggle wickedly. But this time, Mary did not listen to the boy and shouted for help. The first neighbour who came for help was Ms Martha. But soon, the other neighbours also joined her. Ms Martha asked Mary what the matter was. Mary pointed to her left side, where Jonathon was standing. Jonathan was not there. Mary asked the neighbours whether they had seen a boy running away when they rushed to help Mary. None of the neighbours had seen him. Ms Martha tried to calm down Mary and told her to explain everything. Mary narrated the events of her meeting with a boy called Jonathan. The moment Mary told Ms Martha that the boy's name was "Jonathan", Ms Martha crashed to the floor. A tear dropped from her eye. Mary was confused and worried. She asked, "Is everything alright, Ms Martha? Mrs Martha, trying to hold back her tears, said, "Stop playing tricks with me, Mary". Mary was confused and asked,

"What trick, Ms Martha? Ms Martha cried and said, "Jonathon was my son. He was a six-year-old boy when he died. Eleven years ago I had left Jonathon alone in the house when a very dangerous burglar broke into our ouse. When the burglar asked for the money Jonathan refused because he knew nothing. When the burglar was about to kill Jonathon no one from the neighbourhood came to help. Instead, they all closed their windows and doors afraid that the burglar might break into their houses". Mary was shocked and she wanted to cry out her heart but she put herself together, consoled Mrs Martha and told her to show Jonathan's photograph. Mary was shell-shocked when she saw that the boy in the picture was none other than Jonathan. Mary asked Ms Martha if Jonathon used to sing any particular song. To which Ms Martha replied, "Yes! He used to sing a song titled 'Little little Jonathon is happy happy happy' and would take the name of the person who had made him happy or had helped Jonathan. Mary thanked Ms Martha and went inside her home. On her bed, she saw a paper addressed to Mrs Martha. Mary gave the note to Mrs Martha. Mrs Martha started crying after reading it. Mary snatched the paper from her and read it. " I love you, Mamma. Don’t blame yourself for the accident. And thanks to Mary for helping me find my mom. Love. Jonathan". Mary realized that the spirit of Jonathan was not haunting her or troubling her. He just wanted to tell her mother not to be in a pang of guilt and wanted to express his love. After the incident, Mary wrote this in her blog and said " Not all ghosts are bad and neither do they want to haunt you. Some ghosts either have a wish that was not fulfilled or got separated from their loved ones. It's always upon us how we want to treat them. Whether we want to free them from this harsh world or keep them trapped here with us. Today I did not only help a ghost but a son, and most importantly a mother. A mother who must have dreamed of her son becoming something in his life. A dream which was now only a dream. So don’t always run away from spirits or\ ghosts understand them. Because one day you might want someone else to understand you and help you get out of it.
