One day, I got a message from The Monster Destroying Team. They are what they sound like, they “destroy” monsters, for one specific reason, to save the world from monsters and anomalies. They requested me for help, (for some reason.) even though I had almost no experience in fighting at all. It seemed like they were getting desperate for help on something, that they now are at the point of trying to hire random people or ask them to help temporarily. They gave me a variety of weapons, because I will be fighting a monster by myself. They informed me about a monster, The Corrupted Knight. They told me what it looked like, but they didn’t tell me about how it fights, how it survives, and how difficult it is to kill it. They didn’t even research anything about the knight, which could be the reason they fail all the time. After a long while of waiting, the day had finally come. I was sent to the ancient castle that looked almost infinitely old, as if it was at the start of the universe and survived everything that was thrown at it. The Moon was the only way I could see anything in the area. All the trees were dead and my footsteps were the only sound I could hear. No crows, not even crickets. Upon entering the castle, I realized that the whole “castle” is just a worn down garden with the walls of a castle around it. The entrance to the castle got blocked off by planks, indestructible planks. I didn’t want to waste anything on those planks. I need to defeat a threat, not leave right off the bat. Lightning struck multiple times in the middle of the garden, and there, I saw a knight, the knight that the team had told me about. His armor was made of damaged titanium, he had red glowing eyes, and when any light entered his helmet, there was just an endless void in it. His sword and shield were colorless. Remember, I have no experience in fighting, and he looked a little too powerful, so I did what I could do best, ditch the weapons, and play with his patience. After dodging every neck-breaking speed attack, he got tired. “Are you gonna even attack? Or are you just here to anger me?” the knight said in his low pitched voice. “I am just here to distract you.” I said as a strange sword slowly descended next to me. Seeing it, I instantly recognized the sword that looked like a galaxy, The Sword Of Cosmos. The most powerful sword in the universe. Upon welding it, everything around me turned into a pitch black void. “What is the reason you want to use this sword?” a strange voice asked me, “Uh, to save another planet from a dangerous threat?” I replied. “Understandable, access granted.” the voice said. Then, I was out of that void, but everything was colorless, and time stopped. But the sword and I were fine. And finally, I stabbed the knight with the sword, causing a giant explosion to occur, and time resumed. But nothing happened to me, and the sword disappeared. The castle was now a chunk of rubble scattered around the area, and the knight’s remains was just his helmet. The Monster Destroying Team detected the intense commotion and rushed to see if I was ok. Everyone’s jaw dropped from seeing me perfectly fine, the castle destroyed, and The Corrupted Knight dead. Mission Completed. Before I left the team entirely, I gave them one message: “To defeat the enemy, know the enemy. You will find out the weaknesses and overcome its power. But if you somehow managed to NOT do that, then you may have a problem on your hands
PERMANENTLY.”
